I've never been much of a Pearl Jam fan. They're not really my style.

  4. Sounds as though they are about as well known as Hank Marvin of The Shadows. Known in the UK but probably not outside the country, although I'll no doubt get a surprise or two having said that.

Pearl Jam is very well known in the US, it's just that everyone is sick of Eddie Vedder's too-cool-for-the-room angry artist schtick, so now they are pretty much irrelevant.

What the hell? Pearl Jam is not from Canada you half wits!!! They are from Seattle... Hello? Seattle sound... grunge rock?

Also, lost dogs is not a new album with new material. The songs on this album are B-sides... Just like Yellowledbetter was the B-side to Jeremy. Does anyone in this forum even know anything about Pearl Jam? Also, don't rate them based on their popular tunes: Alive, Jeremy, Daughter... Check out the entire "Ten" album. Then, check out "VS"... not bad either... started to slip with "Vitalogy", but came back a little with "No Code". Check out tunes like: Given To Fly, Dissadent, Release, Once, Nothingman, Hail Hail, Yellowledbetter.... the list goes on.

AND PEARL JAM IS NOT FROM CANADA!!!!

THE ONLY MUSIC TO EVER COME FROM THERE HAS BEEN CELINE DION AND BRYAN ADAMS... Awful...

I know enough to not say they are from canada! hahahahaha
as per this being B side songs - i knew most of them were but assumed some were just new songs - ie like a new album

thus i guess "lost dogs" fits the cd's well.

Overall after listening to this set of cd's over and over they sort of grow on you. the 2nd disk more so now than before.

i still love the band, and hope they put out an origional new cd that hearlds them all!!!

For the record, Pearl Jam is on my all time top ten bands. I put them right behind Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple and AC-DC.

I haven't heard lost dogs yet, but their older stuff was excellent!
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........

a few others are from there too -

    Neil Young
    Rush
    Triumph
    Joni Mitchell
    Cowboy Junkies
    Anne Murray
    Alanis Morissette
    k.d. lang
    Avril Lavigne
    Loverboy
    Corey Hart
    Honeymoon Suite
    Luba
    Gordon Lightfoot

Bryan Adams is cool - I met him in person quite a few years ago
He was a lot of fun doing a radio interview

Celine started out as a nudie actress...but a far cry from Shannon Tweed (also from Canada)

Eddie Vedder is actually from Illinois and the rest of the band are from other states.
Only Stone Gossard is from Seattle...but yea, that's where they made their mark.

  16. I have to agree with smearbrick1. Only I think they have sucked since Vs.

Ten in its entirety is phenomenal, and Vs. is equally good. In Vitology, et al., they have been weak. The EP that they did with Neal Young is OK, though.

I will not buy any more. Vedder's drug-induced haze is clouding his lyrics and his relevance.

Pearl Jam put out 3 good CDs when they first started... each one a little worse the then last. By the 4th disc I could no longer stand them. Their new stuff is no different.

I often wonder what would of happened if Vedder would have blown his head off instead of Cobain.
