I am on a Macbook Pro. I am using QuickTime Player to record my screen and then exporting it in 1080p. I then open it in Premier Pro, edit it and export it in the format : H.264 and Youtube Widescreen HD preset, I also click 'use maximum render quality'. I upload the video to youtube and it does not fill the whole screen and it is really bad quality. Not filling the whole screen is probably something to do with Premier pro, but I don't know how to fix it. Can somebody tell me why they are such bad quality and what I should do?
    Thanks

DO you get good quality if you upload the screen recording directly? Just to check if it's the premiere pro rendering that causes the quality problems. Make a short test recording and upload.

What video frame size/resolution are you recording in? If you want 16:9 widescreen must you record in it or crop it to 16:9 with premiere pro.

I did a test recording and uploaded it. It is about the same quality. I am really bad at this kind of stuff, so if you see check what you think of my videos, I would appreciate that.
How do I found out what video frame size. resolution I am recording in? How do I record in 16:9 widescreen? I am not too worried about my videos being not full screen, more about the quality.

  4. I downloaded the first of your samples. It was 1152x720, an aspect ratio of 16:10. Play and record with a 16:9 frame size if you want 16:9 video. For example, 1280x720. But doesn't your Macbook have a 16:10 screen? Otherwise, the video looked about like one would expect from Youtube.

How do I change my frame size to 16:9? Would this make the video fullscreen?

Can't you record in a custom size? If not then try find another screen recorder.

Unlike my fellow Videohelp members I see no issue with 1152x720.

Some people like to sacrifice keeping a video in its original aspect ratio for 'holy' standards.

Except you are ignoring the simple fact that if you give YT any AR besides 16:9 (or maybe 4:3), it will letterbox/pillarbox it.
WHICH IS ONE OF THE THINGS THE OP WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT.

There are good reasons for using standards, regardless of you shutting your mind to them.
