I have a movie that takes 700.1 Mb and I want to cut it back to 700 Mb so it will fit in a CD. Is there a way to do that with ffmpegX or w/ another app without having to re-encode it all? same question if I want to split a 1,4 Gb file in two 700 Mb files?

    thanks

  2. There is a "split" tool in the Filters tab, however it cuts at a given "start from" time, not at a given file size.

I've tried using the Split tool under filters and it shows a completed message but no new files are created. I'm using 0.0.9a.

it also wouldn't suprise me if you can fit a 700.1 mb file on a 700 mb cd.

    Anyone agree?

yeah I meant 701 (actually it's 700.8), so the CD is missing about 200 sectors
