I have this divx movie I was gonna burn so I could watch it whenever I wanted ( I Don't have a big Hard drive ). So I went to a cd cover site, and some of the covers said "Divx Video" on it. This got me wondering. Is a Divx video something you burn along with the divx file. Or is it something else that I don't know. I was going to give a copy to a friend, but he doesn't have the divx codec. Would a Divx Video play on a comp without additional software. And is there a site for it? Please help, I'm confused.

  2. DivX is a video format that can only be played on your computer. Depending on the files size the picture quality can approach DVD at its best and VHS at its worse. It has gained popularity because of its picture quality and the ability to store an entire movie on one CD. Refer to http://www.divx-digest.com for more information and support software for the DivX format. Good luck.
