I've made attempts at creating "faux HD".

Took 4:3 video upsizing it to 1280x720 pillarboxed in Virtualdub, deinterlaced, saving as a Huffyuv file, then using Super to convert to mp4 with AAC sound. The mp4 file plays normally in Kmedia player. After uploading to Youtube it does have the "Watch in HD" option and it will play, but the video is always jerky while the audio sounds fine and plays in stareo.

Any idea why this is happening?

i looked at them and then downloaded them and can't see any difference between them. the only hitches in the HD video were when yt had to pause and catch up the streaming vid.

Yeah, when I retrieve the file from the cache it plays okay on Kmedia player, the problem appears to be with playback on YouTube. It's choppy even when I let it load completely.
