Unless specific titles are mentioned, these DVDs could be Public Domain and not have any copyright/copying restrictions on them.

I assume OP = Original Poster; but with all the acronyms flying around these days, who knows?

I'm just giving the OP the benefit of the doubt and the presumption of innocence. Personally, I think this is better than going the other way and assuming that some illegal activities are going on. Until I see it, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt, whatever he's doing.

Now, if he had said "I just bought [INSERT NAME OF COPYRIGHTED WORK HERE] and want to make some copies for my friends," then I'm with you.

This is almost like the question is the glass half-empty or half-full, because two people can be right. In this case, we just don't know.
