Merging .VOBs W/out prior conversion. Is it possible?

I believe .VOBs are so large because they have high quality. I dont want to reduce this quality, If Im right, and I dont want to convert all these VOBs to MPGs or WE. But I DO want to convert my 5 big VOBs into 1 ginormous VOB. Is this possible? correct any fallacious premises I may have assumed

Yes BUT NO . Bitrate dictates size. The quality of DVD is due to the high quality original sources (in most cases film)
You may percive them as large because they are (due to dvd structure) stored (written) as 1 Gb files.

I believe Vobedit can merge all your VOB's.

VStrip will also merge vobs into one gigantic vob.

Dv tool,DVD Decrypter and Smartripper can be set to rip as one large file.
But what's the point,most programs are designes to work with the standard 1GB files.
