Hi,
i bought a wintv pci off ebay, and i was going to connect the composite out of my Sky ( i live in UK) to the composite input, but it doesnt have one?!, so i bought a composite-to-s-video adapter, when i record this at 720*576 i get verticle lines all through it. the verticle lines are sort of like alternate in brightness so i get a picture filled with lines, its not too noticeable when i make it into a dvd, but i have to use highger bitrates otherwise it looks awful. i use the picvideo mjpeg at 19quality. if anyone has had a similar problem or can suggest any sort of filter that i can use to minimise these lines, i'd be grateful,
i attached an image to show.
edit: you may have to save an enlarge this image.
thanks
Neil

I can't see the lines, but try running the video through VDub perhaps with either the 2D Cleaner or the Smart Smoother High Quality v2.11 filter. Then when you resize down to half-D1 at the end, they may not be noticable.

thanks for the reply i'll give that a try.
the lines are there, its just you have to magnify them in that pic, but in motion they are more noticeable
thanks again
