  1. Hey, I just did a quick scan here, and have seen a lot of I like this, that sucks etc.

I am also kind of new to this aspect of computers.

I am looking to get a capture card of some sort, preferably one that captures at a high enough resolution, when I put it on VCD or DVD and play it back on my TV it looks good.

I have seen a few say they like the TV Wonder, and it is cheap enough, but I cannot find one reference to it's capture resolution or frames per second.

Or should I be looking at a different product?

my system for this is going to be either my Dual Athlon 1.2's with 1 gb ram, or a 1.33ghz. OC'd to 1.53ghz.

Both systems have GeForce 2 Ultra cards, and both have 10k rpm SCSI hard drives, 36.4gb striped.

I will be using svideo or RCA out from my TV for UPN shows, and Svideo out from my DirecTV box for everything else. I'l be dumping video out to my Pioneer DVR-A03.

    Any advice?

  2. i have the tv wonder ve. i like it and capture from dish network. my results after hundreds of tests are a little better than vhs with about 40 min on a cdr. only negative complaint i have against it is that there is NO S-Video for it. cable and RCA jacks in it for video and sound must go into the sound cards line in jack....i'll probably end up looking for an upgrade in the future so i can have the S-Video.....picture quality is all that makes it worthwhile for me...
