  1. I have Studio AV 7 which I am able to capture VHS tapes on and edit them nicely.

My only problem with Studio is that sometimes when making a movie, it will freeze just prior to completing...any ideas

After making a movie as an AVI file, I open Nero 5.15 and try to created a VCD. I drag and drop, and Nero accepts and burns to a normal cdr

The disc will not play in my Sanyo DWM 280 DVD player

Is this hopeless or is there a way to get a disc that will actually play in the Sanyo

I do not have a DVD burner.

    Thanks

  3. From this web about 380
I bought the 380 hoping it would have features similar to the 370- it doesn't. It will not play ANY vcd or svcd I tried. It will however play both vcd and svcd when encoded onto DVD-R. MP3 playback is a big step down from the DWM-280 (and probably the 370). The menu is much more difficult to navigate and it can no longer play mp3s randomly. I took it back the same day I bought it.

I also tried the DWM-280 (its from WalMart, but there its not on their website so I can't add it to this site for a review). The 280 has very good mp3 playback capability, long file names, random play and a reasonable menu. The only down side is that it cannot see subdirectories (folders inside of folders). The big problem with this unit is that it also will not play VCDs or SVCDs. It supports those formats when burned to DVD-R. I returned this unit as well.

I can't believe that these manufactures are taking support for VCDs and SVCDs away from these products!! If it wasn't for that the DWM-280 would be an excellent player (the 380 would still have bad mp3 support though...).
