Okay, I have looked all over the web for an answer to this one for quite some time now. I hope someone can give me a good answer.
When I capture an MPEG using the ati MMC 7.1 software, or PowerVCR 2 my MPEG plays just fine in Windows Media Player, but looses sync in VirtualDub.
What I try to do is to capture the video as MPEG for ease of capture, good quality and easy editing via Vdub. When I cut to the end in Media player everything is still in sync, however if I take the same clip into Vdub and cut to the end and play it, it is all out of sync. Therefore when I edit it and then compress to divx5 the file produced it out of sync as well...
I would not have a huge problem with keeping the MPEGs but I dont want the commercials. I need a way to frame edit the clips and although Vdub is the best I cannot solve this major problem.
(PS. the problem doesnt occur EVERY time, just most of the time, my disks are not fragmented and I have had the same problem with 98, XP and my new fresh install of 98 on a new disk.)
Please help!
