captured qt file pixelates after 9 mins

hi

ive captured a qt file (MINI DV-FINAL CUT EXPRESS) as dv pal quicktime file and although the captured file is 1hr long , when i play in vlc player, it (and all other tapes captured) pixelates at roughly same point (9 mins)

any thoughts please?

Not sure but is it really feasible to put DV in a quicktime container. Is it really still DV in the container ?. That pixilation could be caused by memory usage from the encode.

Surely better to capture DV as DV and if you need quicktime convert it afterwards.
