@vhelp
My device is not the usb hdmi dongle it's the hdmi pro that is a pcie card with an hdmi port and a separate port for a breakout cable this one supporting composite, svideo, component and analog audio
@Revan654
The codecs I indicated were for masters or intermediate processing as they are lossless they were not intended as a final format

	No need to capture uncompressed with virtualdub you can capture compressed lossless that are much smaller and retain all the original quality.
 Depending if you have significative post processing after capture and need to use virtualdub and avisynth.
 An easier solution could be using handbrake to transcode the compressed lossless file from virtualdub to x265. Another one will be using mainconcept total code studio which can be frameserved from virtualdub.This last one will be the better as you can capture to compressed lossless with virtualdub do all cut and filtering within virtualdub and avisynth and frame serve after to mainconcept total code studio ( previous mainconcept reference) for a final HEVC format, however this last one is a paid solution.Last edited by FLP437; 3rd Nov 2016 at 12:17.

	Download from
 https://www.videohelp.com/software/Ut-Video-Codec-Suite
 Install and it should be available to virtualdub.

 After in virtualdub select from the several codecs included in the utvideo suit the most suitable codec for your particular project related with input/output and namely colorspace , Chroma sub sampling ,bit depth and color matrix / resolution.Last edited by FLP437; 6th Nov 2016 at 16:25.
