editing exif data in jpeg

Would editing the exif data in a jpeg affect the quality of it? And has anyone a suggestion for a program to do this.? can photoshop have a set exif for all images?. It seems i have to do each independently

If you are only editing the metadata and not recompressing the image, there should be no loss of quality. A good free program for batch manipulation is exiftool. I also use AutoHotKey to do repetitive data entry in programs like PhotoShop.
