I got a new TV, and have the videos in the computer feeding to the TV. Now, I need a way to control the computer to start, pause, stop, etc., the program stream.

    Any ideas here on setups?

  2. If you have Vista or 7 then use Windows Media Center and This Remote.

  3. IR wireless keyboard and a programmable IR remote control:

You can "teach" the remote any keystrokes from the keyboard.

  4. How about this remote that acts as a keyboard and mouse?

    Or this mini keyboard:

I think I read somewhere that Boxee Box's remote (with a tiny keyboard) is available as a standalone:

The iMon looks cool, but does it have ONLY line-of-site control?

    And this one
Wireless USB PC Remote Control Mouse for PC
looks like it will work too, but same question - LOS only?

What's the term called, that's NOT L-O-S remote control?

  6. Infra-red (IR) is line-of-site (some really bright ones can bounce off a wall or two). Radio Frequency (RF) will go through walls, around corners.

The advantage to IR is that most consumer electronics use IR so you can use the same remote for everything.

Ok - I'm looking for RF control of my computer, preferably without a second keyboard and mouse in the living room, although I'm not knowing if that's possible???

  8. To wake up the pc with such a remote (like the Imon one) your Bios (motherboard) must have the "wake up via usb" option or am i wrong?
I'm asking because my mobo is getting old and i don't have this function only "wake on lan" & "Power on by Pci card"
