Ave,
I was wondering why your 109 wouldn't burn at 8X... i never had any problems burning at 8X with my 109.

The 107 shouldn't have any problems burning MCC 8x media at 8x either...

Over 10 DVD Burns & 10 CD Burns of the Verbatim 100 Pack. Not a single Coaster! No errors! Still giving excellent quality.
A worthwhile switch. And awesome price!
Edit: Just wanted to keep any prospective Verbatim buyers and Pioneer Burner owners. Burned over 30 DVDs, including at 16X (DVR-111D), and over 20 CDs... not a single Coaster, Error or Fault.
Also, @ Newegg, a lot of people had posted comments for this product that their pack had top 6 - 10 Discs with scratches & cracks due to the packaging. The pack i got had absolutely no problems, no scratches or anomalies of any kind. Not sure what they were talking about.I don't suffer from Chronic Insanity & Psychosomatic Multiple Personality Disorder!

Ave,
I'm in a slight indecision here.
I had absolutely no coasters with my Verbatim 16X DVD-R 100PK that i got from NewEgg.Com, and had 100% success with the discs.
I'm completely out of Discs and need some pretty desperately. I would love to get the Verbatim again but there's no sale on Verbatim anywhere on the Media Online Retailers. However, there's considerable sale on both TDK DVD-R's and RiTek DVD-R's. I'm pretty enticed to go for either as I'm having a difficult time waiting for a sale on Verbatim.
If i really had to go with either TDK or RiTek for my Pioneer DVR-111D burner, which one should I go for?
Thanks.I don't suffer from Chronic Insanity & Psychosomatic Multiple Personality Disorder!

Hmmm, interesting. I never really looked at Sony. $12.99 for 50 Pack is not bad at all.Originally Posted by lordsmurf

I got a 50 pack of Sony 16x DVD-R (mid = SONY16D1) MIT media as a Christmas gift. Will recognize at 4x only in my Pioneer 111, LG 4167B, LG H22N, Benq 1650 and Samsung S182D. They burned well at 12x and 16x in a Lite-on 165H6S. Have not tried in any other drives at this time. Very surprised at such limited firmware support for this media. I used Sony MIT DVD-R 8x media (SONY08D1) with very good success in the past. Has anyone else had similar issues?Originally Posted by Mickey79

I prefer the SONY DVD+R, from the two.
However, I've also got a Pioneer 111, and have no issues burning 12x-16x on the Sony DVD-R media. None at all. Works fine.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

I haven't either until this last batch I received. Look at the two Disc Info's I have posted below. Both are Sony DVD-R 16x Made in Taiwan (SONY16D1). The first (purchased in Oct 2006) displays write speeds of 4x - 8x - 12x - 16x as is expected. The second disc is from a spindle purchased at BestBuy in late Dec 2006. Note the 4x only write speed. Same drive used to id both disc's and before anybody asks - you get the same id results on at least 6 different makes that I tested. Anybody got any ideas?Originally Posted by lordsmurf

I had the same thing happen to me in the last month with Sony dvd media. I had a few discs from the same spindle only read 4x, 8x, 12x but other discs would read 4x spd. through 16x spd. Weird and I must say they have some serious quality control issues. The discs that only could burn up to 8x spd I just burned them at that speed.Originally Posted by OneSickPup
