hi,
when capturing with my wintv card using virtual dub newest version.
using the hufuyff [ or something like that ,,,ya kno] codec.
it stops at 4 gigs....... now i was already told about this.
but the 4gig movie it creates is unplayble. it wont play it n gives me an error
n i tried resaving it using vdub as listed on this site but its same story
any ideas?
perhaps what causes it or how i can make captures that are playeble
and while at it perhaps a way to capture more then 4gigs using 1 harddrive?
thanks alor in advance

Properly you're using Win9x or WinME. They only use FAT(32). If you've got W2k or Wxp, be sure you use a NTFS partition for the captures.
Your problem is caused because FAT32 only allowes AVI-files of maximum 2Gb. It allowes you to 'override' this 2Gb to a top of 4Gb, but then your avi's will be corrupted.
To solve this, install w2k/wxp so you have the ability of ntfs, otherwise you must use the option of segmented capturing inside of VDub. This way, VDub will automaticly create multiple files for your captures of a maximum of a particulary size (decided by you, I suggest to use the default of 2Gb avi's). When file.00.avi is opened in VDub, VDub will automaticly search/open for all other files, so you can operate at them if were it 1 big file.
