i am new to dvd always converted to vcd or svcd but have just purchased a dvd burner.
My problem is that when I convert my vcd or svcd file after I have ripped it off my cd with isobuster to dvd with tmpgenc i get a video stream error nearly to the end of the conversion. I then run my original file through virtual dub and then reencode the part that was missed with the original encoding and end up with 2 dvd files with the same bitrate. but am having trouble joining these 2 dvd files. have used dvd tool to join BUT nero does not recognise the joined file tries to analyse it but crashes out at 80% of analysing the file. Can someone help me to join these 2 dvd files with a constant bit rate so Nero will recognise it. Have looked at tmpgenc's mpeg tools to join the files but do not know what to tell tmpgenc the file is ie mpeg 2 vbr, mgeg svcd

  2. I don't have any experience making VCDs into DVDs but I am pretty sure you don't have to re-encode them. valid VCD sizes and bitrates are valid DVD specs as well.
