I'm using Studio 9.3.5 to capture an analog videocam Hi8 tape through a Pinnacle Moviebox USB encoder. I've got an integrated Sound card on my ASUS P4P800 MB (SoundMax).
Image comes out fine but the sound is very low. I don't see how I can improve on this.
Attached is a snapshot of the maximum volume I managed to request

There are tow places you shold be able to adjust the record volume. One is in the program itself. And also in volume control for your sound card (the little speaker in the task bar).

There is a third place you increase record volume and that is line-in.
I think,therefore i am a hamster. -
Update the SoundMax driver even go to the SoundMax website. Try downloading a free sound mixer. The Sound Max driver is the worst and it has problems on DELL laptops and desktop. Sometimes no sound or sound was way to low. You can turn it all up and still it would be low. Try changing the driver see if that helps, I know there was a fix but you might have to do some searching on the internet for that one.
