First of all my pc info:
p4 1.3 with rambus memory 64 (as 128)
Nivida g2 mx/mx 400
(dont know more that will be of any good to know)
my op im using is xp (pro)version 2002 service pack1
Soo too my problem, have checked for this in "search" but only finds for "jerky playbacks" and thats not my problem (not right now anyway)
Iv´e burned some movies to my standalone dvd for a while now and you might seem that im a bit of "perfection" or too serious.
But it´s a bit anoing my problem.
The movies i havent "made" myself i only burned and watched on my stand alone dvd and they are fine...smooth and nice.
But the movies i have "made" are not smooth...they are like tinny tinny jerkying true the whole movie when i watch it![]()
This is movies with subtitels and in svcd im talking abouth, both the "selfmade" and the just "downloaded once.
im using tmpge, virutaldub and some sub programs....nothing much more.
iv´e been thinking on if its tmpge that does this?
any1 have any ide?
any settings i should change in tmpge?
im doing the movies in ntsc (frame is 23 soo...) vbr2pass...high quality...using the "full screen keep aspect ratio", hmm what more?
bitrade ill always set above 1600...(mostly ill set it as high as possible)
or is it just my cpu thats too week?
or my geforce2? think iv´e saw something about ati and movie making and that they not going hand in hand with each other?
well if you have any tip for me ill be very thankful![]()
kind regards
flac

No, the problem is not your software, nor your Geforce2. You're simply burning your movies too fast. Set the speed at 8x or below, and your movie should play perfectly.
If you want to know WHY: (S)VCDs are burnt without error correction information because MPEG is a very error-tolerant format. However, the faster you burn, the more errors you get on your CD-R. When there are too much faults in one frame, your DVD player will recognize it as corrupt and will freeze for that moment. There are only 10 types of people in the world:
Those who understand binary
and those who don't. -
first thanks for the fast reply
But sorry too say that im doing just what your saying
Only burns it in max8 mostly iv´e burned it in x4
And the movies that i have downloaded (svcd and subtiteled) i also burned in same speed and they turn out fine
it only appears with my "selfmade" movies.
I use nero but as the "not selfmade" movies turns out fine it cant be Nero either or neither my cd-burner, it must be some settings in either tmpge or virutaldub that´s making it.
But as i said im very thankful for your reply
kind regards

been thinking of if this filter for virutaldub can fix it?
comment from the site where the filter comes from:
"This filter corrects video that has frame luminance variations over time, what we might generically call flickering. Because a moving-average filter is used instead of a notch filter, this filter can correct both periodic and aperiodic flicker. A major source of video with periodic flicker is the practice of video recording a projected film. When video at one frame rate is projected and then recorded from the projection screen at a different frame rate, a temporal moire pattern, or flicker, is produced. This filter removes the flicker, thereby making this a viable process. For example, it becomes feasible to project 18 fps films and record them with a 25 fps PAL camcorder."
you think this can fix my problem or is it just a dumb ide?
kind regards
