Maddog dvd rom drive

Does anybody know where (in the Uk) I can get hold of a Maddog dvd rom drive?

I have heard it is the fastest drive for Ripping to Hard drive!
I have a Pioneer 105 which rips at a disgraceful 2x!!!!
Come on guys its 2003!
Does anybody else have a fast drive for ripping? I use Smartripper and sometimes Pinnacle Instant dvd.

It's not a MadDog (stupid name anyway, isn't it?) but an EPO-8216. MadDog just markets the drive for CompUSA. Similar to Cendyne for Pioneer DVD burners. Something US specific....

It might be sold in the UK under a different brand name and it might then not be region free as it is from MadDog.
Do a little research with Yahoo.... +EPO +DVD +8216 or also w/o the +EPO.

Do you refer to the 105 burner or to the 105 DVD-ROM? For the burner you are correct. Limited to 2.0x. The DVD-ROM should rip faster if DMA is activated and ASPI installed.
