  2. Have a HP 9100i thats a 8x4x32x, sells at frys or walmart for $99. I like it because you can use the new 99min. CD-R's and they will burn all the way out to 99min.
Works with NERO 5.5 or Adaptec 4.02
I have used the cheapiest CD-R's you can buy, Fry's 50 packs for $9 and it burns them all.

  3. I recommend the Sony internal 12x burner. I forget the model #. I've had mine for over a year and have used it heavily. I bought mine for the bargain price of $149 (at a time when burners were regularly $200-300 and up). Today, the same burner goes for $79. I highly recommend this unit. You can easily find this unit at Best Buy and Comp USA.

One note: The software that comes with it is lacking. Luckily, my mp3 player came with Adaptec EZ CD which I use for data CDs. For audio, I've always used CDRwin (which is fantastic software offering tremendous control). I've yet to burn a VCD, but I plan on using CDRwin.
