  1. I have ulead DVD picture show 2, which I use to make photo slideshows.

    There is an option to "Do not close the disc"- if you want to add files in another burning application.

    Even if I select this option, burning software such as Nero will not allow me too add any files (I wish to add some exe files). The message I get is "Illegal track error".

    Is there any other way I can add files to a VCD?

    Otherwise, is there a way of ripping a VCD, and adding files when I re-burn? Which track of the CD shuld files be added to?

    When you finalize (close) a disc, that's telling your burning software that you do not want to write on this disc anymore. Also, with CD-R, you can't write to a CD-R more than once.

    Yes, you could use VCDGear or IsoBuster to add the files back on the hard drive.
