After a bit of experimentation, I'm really pleased with my process to copy DVDs (using DVDBackup and DVD2One on VPC).
However, the only thing I can't do is backup DVD's from Region 1 (& 3-6) as my DVD drive has used all it's changes up and is set to region 2.
Is there any way of getting DVDBackup to work with other regions?
I don't think I can update my drive with region free firmware as I have a Pioneer DVR-104 with A227 (latest) firmware. Feel a bit nervous going down that root anyway.
Any idea's what I can do?

sometimes this works for me, with osex, turn off start dvd player in system prefs upon dvd insertion, then when you insert the dvd just don't play it, and then try to copy it. it works about 60% of the time.

I'll give that a go, cheers.
When you say 60%, is that 60% of tries work or 60% of DVD's work? -
the dvd's. it'll work with some non-region 1 dvd's but not all. (i'm region 1).
but i've only really tried this osex, next time i'll try dvdback up and see how it goes.
