I capture movies and TV shows from cable, then I edit out the commercials and copy to disk.
Can anyone recommend a easy program that can split a MPG file into smaller files. This makes it easier to scroll through the editing. I have used TMPGEnc Cut & Merge but it takes a long, long process for each split.
Thanks!

Scenalyzer the old version is now available for free from Scenalyzer.com.
It does not capture but will split avi's by scene detection or DV timecode scaning. It will create a new scene with every scene change so for an hour of footage you may have a hundred or more avi's.
But if you use an NLE you can re-assamble the avi's and create VCD's or DVD's or whatever you want.
