Hello![]()
I am being annoyed by my DIVX files for example (512x288) when they are converted to NTSC VCD resolution because the screen is always squashed. The characters look thin and the picture is not as good as I would like it to be, even for a VCD.
Is there any way that I can preserve the same picture aspect ratio as in the original DIVX file by adding widescreen lines to the MPEG while it is being encoded?
eg for width 512/352 = 1.454545
So to preserve the same aspect ratio I'd like the height of the MPEG to be 288/1.454545 = 198
240-198= 42
So for a 512x288 divx file converted to VCD I'd like the actual movie picture to be 352x198 then at the top and bottom of the screen I'd like there to be black lines of width 352 and height 21, so that would make up the 352x240 picture...
(sorry for the pile of shit at the end - trying to explain myself clearly)
