  1. I ripped a DVD using Smart ripper and it made 8 .vob files. Only 3 of those files are readable by TMPGEnc. I did it twice and no luck. Any help? I'm using the latest versions of both.

  2. First, read the DVD Rip guide to the left. Basically you skipped a few steps. While media player can play VOB files (w/ a software DVD player installed) and TMPGenc can read VOB files. You really should DVD2AVI to generate a D2V (video) and wav (audio) file. Then encode those with TMPGenc.

There are also good guides at http://www.doom9.org and http://www.flexion.org/vcd

If you're a total newbie and want the easiest method, I would recommend DVD2SVCD (look under the guides at doom9.org). This is a front end program that will do everything for you. You can d/load the newest ver at:

    http://dvd2svcd.doom9.net

You'll also need CCE 2.5sp (you can d/load the demo from the Doom9.org DVD2SVCD guide section). The demo places a logo/watermark in the bottom right of your encoded MPEG. I've heard a rumor that there's a crack to remove this logo thou
