  1. I am new to vcd authoring so I read all ther information on this site and burned my first vcd which plays perfect on the computer. I used the radeon all in wonder to capture the mpeg and used all the settings I found. ntsc525, 352 x 240, 44100 khz 16 bit, mpeg1,4 p frames,2 b frames, exactly 1.15m bit/sec. Then burned single mpeg with ezcd 5. My dvd player has played vcds before and recognizes the disc as a vcd but it does'nt play. Any help would be appreciated.

I have yet to look through this forum, but I also have problems. I converted a movie (mpg) with Tmpgenc to NTSC (not film) and it played fine on my computer. I then burned it as a video CD in Nero 4.0.7.5. When I put it in my DVD player, it shows up as pink and green lines, and I can see a bit of the movie trying to get our. I have a Sony C600D 5-disc changer, and It is a bit dated. Any help is welcomed. I will also read through the forum to see if I can find any solutions anywhere.

  3. Well Deus, I finally had some success after burning at 4 times instead of 12. Kinda sucks that the process keeps geting longer but oh well. Parts of the vcd are blocky but overall it was good.

Hmmm well I'll try it at 4x once....I am only burning a 4 minute music video for testing purposes, but I dont want to waste too many CD-Rs. If anyone else knows of any other solutions I would be grateful. Thank you.

Wow, thanks rbthird. Thats EXACTLY what my problem was. Yay! After wasting about 5 CDs YOU got it working. He he, I got the newest version of Nero too and got menus working on this try. Menus are nice and easy, I love it. Welp, Ill be lookin in on this forum from time to time, but dont expect many more posts from me cuz Im still new at all this.

    Thanks again,

  6. Heck, I burn all my stuff at 2x! There's as many people who swear by slow speed, as will swear by fast, though. I say, whatever solves the problem. BTW, DeusRex, for testing purposes, I recommend CDRWs. If they don't work, keep erasing them! No wasted cdrs.

My DVD player crashes when you insert a CD-RW. No kidding, it just shuts itself off it gets so confused. Trust me, ive tried

About the speed, I wouldnt think that would make a difference at all, guess I was wrong. I always thought a burned CD at 2x had the same results as a 8x. Wonder whats the differnce...and Im using quality CD-Rs too (all out of cheap ones dammit)
