Would it be fair to say a RAID 0 *might* have a detrimental effect on capture, albeit only by a small margin?
I have a Athlon XP2000+, 512 PC133, ATI 64mb DDR ViVo and 2 x D740x Maxtor 80gb HDD's on RAID 0 (plus my prtimary HDD, IBM Deskstar) and use Virtualdub with the PicVideo Mjpeg codec.
My problem is I can't cranked the quality up to the maximum 20, anymore than 18 and I get too big a frame loss.
I imagine the difference between 18 and 20 (effectively an increase in quality of 10%) wouldn't be that noticable but I wondered whether it was due to my RAID 0 configuration.
Any thoughts?
Many thanks,
Will
