When I make a VCD or SVCD from a bin/cue file on some movies I can not use the fast forward and some will advance with the chapter advance button and some wont. Is this a problem with the way it was originally made into a bin/cue file or could I be doing something wrong. I'm burning with Nero.

    Thanks

Try burning with CDRWIN or FireBurner and report back...
    Nero has issues sometimes.
edit: this will eliminate the burner from the problem then you know it's in the bin/cue creation

To use "chapter"-forwarding/rewarding, the cue/bin has to be created with those.
Nero (usually) doesn't support chapters. You need other software for that (like VCDwizard and others). If you have problems with fast forwarding/rewarding (without the use of chapters), you surely should concider to use VCDwizard (or any other VCDimager GUI) which can "optimize" the MPEG-stream so it won't give that much problems (option 'Update Scan Ofsets', though this only is available when creating SVCD - so using MPeG-2).

When I have FF or RW problems I usually run it through TMPGEnc. This gets rid of the problem (also usually makes the file size smaller).
For chapters I use VCDEasy. Make the Bin/Cue from that. Then burn the image with Nero.
Everything has worked out great with this system so far.
