Hmmm...
Interlace in >> Interlace out ?
NO!
The correct is
Interlace in >> re-interlace >> Interlace out
Why?
Imagine that you have a puzzle. Someone has already made it a picture. Let say that this is a Interlace source
You love the puzzle's picture. You want that picture, but you want it smaller. Let's say that this is a smaller resolution.
What you can do?
1. Create an identical but smaller puzzle, so you have the picture.
The proccess: You copy each part of the puzzle and you produce a smaller one.
In a way that is what we do with interlace in >> Interlace out.
The problem is that this produce mistakes, errors and some parts of the puzzle maybe ain't the same colour with the near parts. In video terms, you have blocks, jerky motion, blurness...
2. You took a photo of the ready puzzle and then you cut it to small parts, as you like.
So, you have your puzzle and the picture (which is what you are really want), with less errors, mistakes, in one colour, sharpness etc.
In a way, you interlace again the picture
Solution 2 is better, but unfortunatelly, video proccessing ain't that easy...
You have to re - interlace the video source and then proccess it. And the problem is, how you do that?
I read at Lucas guide about re - interlace methods in analogue capture or DV capture. I know all the tricks with virtual dub filters, etc. I can cut odd or even filds, or blur the fields inside a frame or adaptive them...
The problem is that those things are for AVI. If you got ready mpeg 2 files from satellite feeds, like I do, you can't use virtualdub, etc. The only way to De - interlace the mpeg, is with TMPEGenc filters, on the advance settings...
There are many methods there: Adaption, animations, single drop out, Double....
I know what adaption does, also single drop out odd or even filds. I suspect that "Double" filter create seperate odd and even frames. But what animation does? And why 2 choices?
has anybody experience with the use of those filters with TMPEG? (not virtualdub)
I need also some info for the "noise reduction" filter of tmpeg.
I already made some tests with the de-interlace filter. I improve 60% the quality of my mpeg's, expecially to small bitrate/resolutions. I used adaption and drop out odd fields filter. The point is, which of these filters you believe is best?
After messing with all those things, I find out that what looks great in you TV or your DVD, ain't nesseccary looks great to your Friends... So, the point is the common acceptable solution, and not what works personaly.
So, any ideas, experience, guidness, etc?

Is it the question or my english for no replys?
OK, then...
What about the use of those filters with Virtual Dub?
In a way, we can say that mpeg2 rips from satellite transmissions, are like unproccessed captured avis from Virtual Dub...
