Hello!
I have a DV camcoder, I use Pinacle DV plus to capture, edit and create my movies! The final product is coded in full DV quality.
Then I use TMPGEnc to create a SVCD. The quality is very good, the problem is when it is too much motion, then objects moving are getting squary!
Now my question is:
Does anyone here know how to get rid of those pesky digital squares?
They were not there in the AVI-file!
Very thankful for your help!

Hmmm, now when I have read my question I believe that what I want to know is the following:
If TMPGEnc or other software has a function to don't get moving objects a block noise.
Perhaps all I'm doing is setting TMPGEnc incorrectly. The best result was achieved by using the best "motion serach precision"
Hope this help to clarify my question.Give a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day.

I have exactly the same problem and gues its just to do with the graphics card, but does the quaility stay bad when converted back onto a DVD/VHS?

Well the main idea is that I'm working with 35 to 39 min of video material. This will be fit into a SVCD, this because the blocknoise on VCD is to high.
So when I put the SVCD into my stand alone DVD player it shows some amount of block noise on the TV.
And as far as I know I think TMPGEnc doesn't use my videocard to encode, instead it uses the CPU of my comp. I'm not sure though, I'm asuming since my CPU goes up to 99% when TMPGEnc works with an encoding.Give a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day.

what is your video Bitrate...Blocks tend to appear in high motion scenes due to low video Bitrates. ?

Well ..... I have been working with DV.
That one should be 3745 Kbytes/s that's almost 30 Kbits/s.
That one should not give me any problems. Thing is that the best result with TMPGEnc took me about 2 hours for a 2 min clip!!!!!!!!!!
depresing when I'm going to code about 40 min .....
Anyways I'm now trying to Divx my clip and work with the interlace/non interlace stuff. And then I'll use TMPGEnc to encode into SVCD. Hope that works. Any guys inside here that could help me in telling me if I'm heading the right way?Give a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day.

Am I the only one here having this kind of trouble?
Doesn't someone have the same problem as I?
Or maybe, is there some guy inside here having an idea of how I can solve it?Give a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day.
