Help With ULead Video Capture

I recently purchased the ATI All-In-Wonder with Ulead Sys version 4.0. During conversion of VHS tape to Mpeg 1 or 2, the captured video sticks/jumps back and fourth between frames while the audio continues to track. This usually occurs on older tapes but has happened on a brand new tape. I am still learning the program but can't quite figure this out. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know the specifics of your setup, but I use a MAtrox card with Ulead software, and the recommendation (of both Matrox and Ulead) is to NOT use the Ulead capture tool, but to use the one provided by Matrox. So ... did your ATI card come with a capture utility ? If so, it may work correctly and then you can import the files into the Ulead software.

The Ulead software came with my ATI card. I recently underwent some hardware changes to my system and now Ulead locks me up after every attempt to capture video. I have read other forums which indicate that this is not uncommon so I believe it is a compatibility problem. Too bad because I thought it was a neat package. By the way, my system is a Compaq 5000/700mhz proc/20Gb HD/256k RAM. I appreciate your quick response and I will try a few other routes (Ulead tech assist) and another utility as you suggest.
