Can anyone tell me how to determine which source aspect ratio I should use? This is from the XVCD using TMPGnc how to guide.
Under Advanced select these settings.
Select Source Aspect Ratio select 1:1 (VGA) (if your source is in 4:3 select 4:3 525 line(NTSC) for NTSC and 4:3 625 line(PAL) for PAL).
and under Video Arange Method Full screen(keep aspect ratio).
Where do I look to find out what my ratio is?

If you are encoding from a divx file use 1:1 VGA as the source, the 4:3 and 16:9 are used if your source is from a 4:3 or 16:9 DVD.
