  1. just seen on the TV there is now a new DVD player and recorder out on the market, no more computers needed to record DVD quality films, it takes a 4 hr DVD/RW, you can record straight from the TV, and you can record over and over again for ever with no loss of quality. if you want one you can have one for a mear £1,300

  2. I'm still waiting for the good news, that DVD+RW/-RW media become cheap enough to be able replace CD-R media... and that dual-layer writable DVD media hits the market...

  4. ..they always say that for a new product, it's just to reassure people, that it's a good idea to jump on it...

    VHS will still be around for years, the user base is too big, to vanish from one day to another; it will take at least the time CD's took to replace audio tapes... they'll have to sell those recorders under-price to get people to buy them... (actually something that has been done for other medias like CD's as well...)
