  1. Ok... under WinXP i'm having some troubles... I can use only Pinnacle Studio for capture, because other capture softwares just can't find any capture driver (tested VDub and Premiere 6,5).

Now i want to use TMPEnc to do the SVCD encode (i think this can do with better quality than Studio encode) or Premiere 6,5 do work with some effects, but this softwares just can't work with the MJPEG AVI file generated by the Studio capture...

    Any sugestion?

I would like to chat with some DC10+ users...

  2. Hi,

Yes, I have a similar problem, though I run Win98se. Have you been to the very good Pinnacle Support Forums at http://www.pinnaclesys.com/wwwsupport/Forums/uk/frameset.htm?

I think that the only answer is to use another capture device as the MJPEG codec used by the DC10 board can't be easily read by other progs. (I hope someone will correct me if I'm not right here.)

In any case, post your question in the Pinn. forum under the Studio software version you're using.

Good luck and post back if you get a good answer

  3. Install PicVideo's MJPEG codecs. This should ensure that other apps can read the MJPEG AVI format. I think there was a shareware app that installed the PicVideo MJPEG codecs for free.

Also, you can use Virtual VCR for capture. I currently stick with Studio 7 but I've tried Virtual VCR and it works under XP.

You could try VirtualDub - it has a "universal" MJEG decoder
when opening the file - choose extended popup options
this is slower but allowed me to open my DC30+ files on another machine
you don't have to download anything that might upset the DC10 either (like Picvideo might)
frame server out to TMPEG then - easy!

  5. Have you tried AVI_IO for capture? Has nevered failed to work 100% for me. It lip sync on multi-hour captures all the time and handles the 73 minute bug. I know the latest Studio has it built in but AVI_IO is so much simpler to use. I use it under both Win9x and 2000. It may work ok under XP. There is a demo avaiable and you dont need to install anything.

Feed those files from AVI_IO strait into VirtualDub to make one long video file then frameserve to Tmpeg. Clip with Tmpeg.

Premiere and DC10+ have never really gotten along that well. It will work with those files but not the way its bigger brother the DC30+ will. Same chip set just missing the audio half. There are better solution than Adobe overprice/underpower product.
