I am curently living in a NTSC zone, and I have a world-multi vcr(ntsc and pal supported). What i wanna do is to connect the vcr to my capture card (model listed below), and then i wanna play PAL VHSs on the computer, so i can capture it and record it back to NTSC mode, so i can watch it on TV. My question is would i be able to play PAL VHS on a NTSC capture card like leadtek winfast 2000 xp?
Thanks

I have a similar video card like yours, "LeadTek WinFast A250 MyVIVO". I am in a same situation of having to use both NTSC and PAL for capturing.
With your video capture card you can only capture NTSC to NTSC or PAL to PAL. To convert from PAL to NTSC is impossible using the video card.
The only way for you to solve this problem is to look at the left box, "convert" and look for "Framerate Conversion" This conversion process applies to NTSC to PAL or PAL to NTSC for VCD. I really don't know if this process as suitable for video file conversion.
You will still need to capture the videotape as PAL and then using the video conversion process into NTSC.
So, I hope this helps. -
So u mean that with my NTSC leadtek winfast tv2000 xp tv capture card, i would be able to at least to watch pal videos, rite?
Also, i was trying to connect my vcr to my capture card. I plugged in a cable from VCR's video out to my capture card's video in. Then i was trying to plug in my VCR's audio out to my capture card's audio in; but the cable wont fit in the capture card's audio in's jack; so wat can i do?
Btw, the way is was trying to setup is right, rite? -

Yes, you certainly can play PAL videotapes on your computer using your capture card, WinFast TV2000 XP. You can also capture the videotape into the computer.
You have to configure the capture card’s settings to change from NTSC to PAL and don’t forget to revert it back to NTSC for your TV.
Your TV card is really multi-system. Check out on: http://www.leadtek.com/mmedia/tv2000xp/tv2000xp.htm
My LeadTek WinFast A250 MyVIVO is also like yours, I can play both NTSC and PAL videos and DVD'S on the computer.
I am from Australia and my TV used here is PAL and you from America use NTSC. The best of both worlds!
You need to get a special audio plug to connect to the computer's audio input. It's a mini plug; 3.5mm at one end, the other end a normal stereo RCA plug or normal mono RCA plug. You can get it at any electronics store in America, try Tandy.
