I've successfully used "RecordNow" to burn to Accu media with my Sony DRU-500a. Now I'm trying to use Nero 5.5.9.17 and I've failed 3 times in a row. I'm buring 6 files containing ~4,600,000,000 bytes of data. I burns at 2x for almost 30-minutes. Below are some excerpts from the log,

12:34:06 PM Caching of files started
12:34:06 PM Caching of files completed
    12:34:06 PM Burn process started at 2x (2,760 KB/s)
    1:03:36 PM Invalid block address
    1:05:36 PM No seek complete
1:05:36 PM Could not perform end of Disc-At-Once
    1:05:36 PM Burn process failed at 2x (2,760 KB/s)

    Any thoughts? Suggestions?

You might be burning too much, even though it says 4.7 I've heard its actually 4.3.
But I would say to try new media, I also have a DRU500A and I use Nero with no problems, but I use Maxell DVD-R. Try another brand, I've heard some drives are picky, once I burned with Maxell I stuck to it. Hoped this helped. Good luck.

  3. No Idea. Try to burn 1x. I had 1x media that I could burn 2x but I can't watch them after 10min of movie. Burning 1x helped.

Which version of 5.5.9.17 do you have ?

    How can I tell if I have Nero 5.5.9.17.0 or 5.5.9.17.1 ?

Not burning too much, although some cheaper discs i've heard dont let you go all the way to the edge.

when manufacturer says 4.7gb they actually are saying 4,700,000,000 bytes which is 4.37 gigs

he is burning 4,600,000,000 bytes which works out to be approx 4.28 gig

I'd held off updating to 5.5.10 due to the problems I've read that people are having. However, I just updated to this newer version and I'll see if that'll fix it.

As SLB stated the actual capacity is 4,700,000,000 bytes, which due to "power of 2 math" equals
    4,700,000,000 bytes x 1KB/1024bytes X 1MB/1024KB X 1GB/1024MB = 4.377216 GB (or there about). So I don't think it's an overburn issue. May be the Accu Media or may be Nero 5.5.9.17.
