O.K., so I traveled to Europe over the summer and took about 250 digital photos of various places/sites. When I returned home, I decided to purchase a DVD burner and create a photo slideshow of my visit. What I want to do is create a slideshow that allows the viewer to select a category, and display photo thumbnails in that particular category. For example:
Main Menu
- Several Category Buttons
- London
- Munich
- Etc...
Once you enter a Category, a soundtrack will play (loop), and a series of small thumbnail photos will appear. As the soundtrack continues to play, the viewer will be able to navigate amongst the various thumbnails and view them full screen. This happens as the music continues to play. If anybody owns the Monsters INC. DVD, on the bonus disk, there is a section that behaves in this way.. Check out Monsters INC Disk II..Chapter 56...This is what I want to do....It can be found by browsing - Humans-Monster Files-Character designs....
Let me know...
thx..

NO....See, the problem is, all of these slideshow wizards, and programs that allow you to create a dvd slideshow, require a DELAY before advancing to the next photo. I want the photo to stay on the screen until I provide a command to switch photos. The soundtrack will continue to play/loop though..
Plz help!!
Thanks!!!! -
InDashMP3, I just put in Monster's Inc Disc 2 to see what you want to do. While I'm not sure you will get exactly that, I can tell you that Pinnacle Studio 7 is good for slideshows (notice I said Studio 7, not Studio 8 - read the thread titled "Pinnacle 8 - has anybody had a positive experience with this").
Even though Studio 7 is oriented for video editing, I've used it to create slideshows. Regarding how much time each picture remains on screen, the default S7 gives you is 4 seconds, but you can change the time on each picture individually (I don't think you can adjust them by group). The sound will continue through, as it's on a separate track and doesn't really care if you have a picture that's on screen for 1 minute and another one for 1 second.
Studio 7 can import MP3s and it has something called SmartSound, which is stock instrumental music that adjusts to the length you need, always ending naturally. You can also fade out/in your SmartSound or MP3.
The thumbnails you want to do can probably be done with menus, but you'll need a DVD authoring program for that.
Hope this helps.
P.S.
I wish my car had an InDashMP3 player -
InDash,
Not the post you wanted; I'm afraid I cant help you but I'm looking for the same thing, did you find anything yet? I think I've been through all regular programs (photo2vcd, nero, pictureToTV and that kind of stuff) but found nothing! Will keep looking though and will let you know if i find something.
CU later!
