  1. I installed the new DIVX 4.0 codec yesterday and tried to encode with AVI/IO. Files are compressed to a nice small size but I noticed color shifting occuring on the files I created. It seemed to be a shift to a reddish hue after about 2 or 3 seconds of play. This did not occur on all the files just certain ones. Has anyone else noticed this happening and what is the fix for it. Can anyone provide the optimal settings for using AVI/IO and DIVX, should I use DIVX 4.0 slow codec or fast codec or just DIVX 4.0. What is the difference. Initially I tried to use DIVX 4.0 with Virtual Dub but no matter how I manipulated the settings through my ATI AIW/MMC 6.3 or in VirtualDUB the file size was still large, like 10 seconds of video using DIVX 4.0 came out to over 1MB. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. By the way thanks to those who helped solve my I-Author problem.

  2. I have heard of other people having color shift problems with the DivX 4.0 CODEC so you are not alone on that count.

The information I have heard is that you should use the fast CODEC for anything over 320x240 but the slow codec for 320x240 and below.
