    hello

    i have an external hp cdwriter, usb

    i have tried to burn a svcd with Nero but it doesn't see my cd writer.

    what other free program, can i use to burn svcd/vcd with an external usb HP cdwriter?

    os: xp
    ram: 384
    p3: 1.2ghz
    60g hard drive

    I have a hp writer in a usb2 enclosure and it works fine.

    Does windows see the drive ?
    what operating system are you running ?

    If it is xp you may need to install sp1, I did because mine is connected through a usb2 pci card and the only way to get xp to see it is to install sp1.

    yeah, i see the drive in XP...

    i am using usb1

    i cannot install service pack 1....because xp is a copy....

    What version of Nero are you using, try updating to the latest version 5.42
