ok heres my situation... I've tried to burn this SVCD many times now. Everytime i do i get an error. I've been using Nero 5.5.9.6. It wont play in my friends standalone or in my computer using MediaPlayer or WinDVD. I cant seem to figure out why it wont work. Every other (S)VCD i've burned works fine. Even when Nero needs to re-encode it. If someone has an answer please help!

  2. More details...

Do you already have the MPEG-2 file? Or are you using Nero to encode?

  4. What file are you trying to get Nero to turn into a SVCD?

Did you make it? For example, with TMPGEnc?

Or did you get it from somewhere else?

What can you tell us about this file?

    Regards.

i got it from someone else. its a movie split into 2 files. i can watch it on WinDVD from my harddrive but when i burn it an error happens midway through burning. I've shut everything down on my system so the processor would only be used by Nero and that doesnt work either.

  6. It sounds like a DivX AVI file. Is it?

If so, you should convert the DivX AVI file to MPEG-2 first with TMPGEnc rather than let Nero convert it.

  9. Well, I don't necessarily believe your source and neither should you. And you can easily make DivX AVI files of ANY size.

Why don't you actually CHECK what the file is??

I assume you mean that it is an MPEG-2 file rather than "SVCD". If it is already a SVCD ready MPEG-2 file, try remultiplexing it with TMPGEnc or bbMPEG. There may be something wrong there...

  11. For MPEG files try "MPEGProperties": http://www.vcdhelp.com/tools

For AVI files, try gspot: http://www.vcdhelp.com/tools

ok..i used MpegProperties. It said the file is a Mpeg-2. Now when i try to burn in Nero i get the following message:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The file 'D:\Movies\***.mpg' is not a valid file for creating a standard Video CD V2.0(CD-I player) disc. A compiant video file requires the following specifications: MPEG-1 which ws encoded for Video Cd
The following problems were found:MPEG-2 instead of MPEG-1
    invalid video stream 29.97 frames/second, 480x480 pixels
How would you like to continue?
Turn off standard compliance and continue

    Re-encode the video file
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now wat option should i choose?

  15. It seems like you are trying to use your video file to make a VCD with Nero?

    Try making a SVCD.

    Alternatively, try using VCDEasy: http://www.vcdeasy.org
