stand alone dvd wont play vcd

when i tried to play a vcd on my dvd player it wont work,its all scrambled.i converted it from avi. to mpeg using the wizard thats supplied in nero 5.5.9.17. and i use fujifilm cd-r 700mb/80min. and i also checked the compatibility of the apex 500w and it said vcds work,so its not that.maybe i should try tmpgenc or cd-rw or both.oh and my burn speed was only at x3.any help will be appriciated,thank you

(1) Burn an audio CD on the same media at the same burn speed to make sure that your player can read your media okay.
(2) Don't use Nero to encode your VCDs. Use something like TMPGEnc that will give you much better quality.

don't use nero to convert cause it's not that good in that area. As mentioned - use TMPGEnc. There are some tutorials here that are great. Check them out, maybe you're doing something wrong.

Give some info on both files (source -> output)
