  1. To create a MiniDVD (so I can use the DVD standard for authoring with motion menus, etc, etc), but use svcd standard mpeg-2 files as the video? The only reason i want to make a minidvd is so i can use the advanced authoring capabilities of dvd with my svcd compliant mpeg2 stream. Possible or no? TIA.

  2. you can make a mini dvd but the chance of it working on you stand alone dvd player is now very good.....

    I'd say that it's not very good. (I guess that's what you meant.)
    Yes, it's quite possible to create a miniDVD, but, as the full CD is going to be played in 10-15 minutes, the DVD drive has to be capable of somewhere like 6-8 spin, which very few stand alone DVD players are fitted with. If your player uses an ATAPI drive, you could replace it with std DVD drive, but that seems like much trouble for what you'll gain (miniDVD playing).
