MAKE DVD audio ? well to make audio you could beat on the table with some sticks while chanting and record it as a wav file , and go from there ..
-
ah ah ah ... very funny...you have some great jokes...ever consider the clown carrier? lol....have you never seen AC3 files encoded in 5.1? I did...can i play this files in my standalone player? if so...how??
-
ok -- standard dvd audio is normally encoded in ac3 (which can be anywhere from 2 to 6 channels) , or it can be pcm audio , both need to be at 48khz sample rate and one or the other (or both) need to be on the dvd for the dvd disk to be consdered compliant (except in Europe where a mpeg 1 layer two audio stream may be present only, this works on SOME n. american players also - but not all) ..
you MAKE the ac3 stream by encoding audio wav or asf or pcm streams w/ a ac3 encoder .. these used to be expensive and hard to purchase but now there is freeware apps that do it suprisingly enough. besweet can do it for example (the latest version) .
and yes, a ac3 stream will play in ALL dvd players ... -
ok
i already have the AC3 files...know how do i burn it?? in what format? DVD video?
-
You would take the AC3 audio and mux it with your elementary stream video using something like TMPGEnc, then author with something like DVD Workshop (some high-end programs like Maestro will let you import the elementary streams without pre-muxing).
Unless you're talking about putting only the AC3 on DVD with no video. About that I know nothing, but would be interested to hear what others have to say.
Here's a link about putting AC3 sound only on CDR that will play in a settop DVD player:

That would be a lot cheaper than burnig DVDs, unless you want hours and hours on a disk. -
That's what i'm talking about...ac3 files with no video...
I'm gonna try to do a normal audio cd with nero containing ac3 files...don't know if nero will recognise them...should i convert them to wav file? hum... -
audio cd will not work with only ac3 files .. you have to convert to wav and 44.1khz
-
ok...with what? can you tell me a program to convert AC3 to WAV and still keep 5.1 sound?
-
you cant have 5:1 on an ordinary audio cd ..
but you can have 5:1 on a DTS audio cd .. which sounds real nice ..
to convert 5:1 ac3 to audio cd format use besweet -
see the site the poster above suggested also as an alternitive and if you are going to play the cd only on a dvd player ..

ok...were do i find that program? is that free? if not...were to find the "free" version?
-
i have already open an account in that site, but i still can't get acess to downloads section...dammmm....what seems to be the problem?
-
andre78, what are you trying to do here? Your subject made me think you wanted to make a DVD-A disc. All the help you've gotten so far will yield a DVD-V disc. DVD-A discs are only playable in DVD-A machines, where DVD-V discs are playable in just about every DVD-type of drive. DVD-A does not use AC3 or DTS encoding.
So, what is your intent? -
Some information about dvd audio here http://www.dvdaudiopreview.com/about/
(not DVD video with audio) -
I guess my intent was that one...to make a DVD-A disc...but i didn't knew they were not playable in standalone regular DVD players....too bad...so...i guess all i want to do is record a audio cd with the same audio we find in regular DVD discs (5.1)...what software do i need to reencode, Knowing that i already have the AC3 files?
Thanks 4 all your help. -
you would need softencode by sonic foundry which isnt made anymore or a dts encoder which is (but expensive) .... both can produce 5:1 files wav files which are playable on cd player (with optical out to decoder) or dvd players. also i found that the company making the dts encoder makes a dolby encoder also for cd ..
http://www.minnetonkaaudio.com/
you can burn the special wav files with any burner ..
