This one is a new one. I have been using a Sony Dig8 for a passthrough DV capture (the same thing happens with regularly recorded DV tapes too) I use Studio 7 to capture and do basic editing on the file before encoding. After working great for over a year, suddenly after the latest upgrade from Studio 7 the audio is way out of sync (about 2 seconds). I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Studio 7 without the upgrade and the various DV recording apps listed here under the tools section. Any ideas? Admittedly I'm not an expert on how these things work, but I understand clearly how the normal captured audio is out of sync. I'm at a loss where to begin to fix this????? Any help?

You can try capturing with DVIO (Tools section) and exporting back to tape with the same program. The resulting exported video should not be out of sync. This will not fix your problem but it will help you isolate it.
You are better off encoding to mpeg with TMPGEnc than Studio7. -
I tried DVIO, same problem.
I do use TMPEGenc for encoding. I just use Studio 7 for import and editing of DV.
Use Virtual Dub for regular capture.
