Hi,
I would like to capture Hi8 video tape, I have a VX2000 which can do A/D conversion on the fly. How about the quality compare to a capture card like ATI AIW?
Thanks.

This is in another thread. Most people say they should both do the job well. I like the cam idea, because once capped as DV AVI, it's easy to set exact parameters in TMPGEnc or CCE to get a good DVD compatible VBR MPEG file.
One guy (forget his name) likes analog capture better, claiming that DV AVI makes colors "washed out", I think because of too few bits used for color info. Personally, I've never noticed this, but my transfers were done from VHS tapes that maybe weren't of high enough quality to show it. -
You can use the VX2000 with confidence, absolutely no problems with quality.
