  1. Hi there
I am having a few problems trying to encode my avi files to mpeg.
I cant seem to watch my avi files on my computer I dont get the video
although I can hear the sound. I have followed the procedure to encode
AVI to mpeg in tmpgenc but am having troubles with it. First I can get
the encoding to start but when I go to view it there still is no video. Secondly when I click on tmpgenc to put it down in my taskbar windows xp shuts it down. Not sure why. I have always used tmpgenc for my
encoding with no problems up until now. Is there a better program to use
or is there a way to fix this problem.
My machine is a celeron 850cpu, 128ram, 32mb tnt video card and
    I am running windows xp.
    Regards
    Wendy

So what you are saying is you can't play .avi files on your computer, so that means you need to get a codec, If I am right you should find Nimo's Codec in the links on the left, somewhere let me find it for you!!!

  4. Hi thanks for that. I am downloading the nimo codec now and hopefully
    that will fix it.
Now I just have the problem that windows xp doesnt seem to like
tmpgenc. It keeps closing the program as soon as I start encoding something.
Anyone have any ideas about this.
