  1. Ok,

I have that Xvid video that cannot play into WMP or any other player. Yes i do have all codecs since i have many other avi that plays fine.

I try to fix it with VidFix, when i checl for error it says:

Corrupted data detected at frame 1152
    Error offset: 5532078 ($005469AE)

So, since it's an index error, i try to fix it... All it does is a truckated file that stops playing at frame 1152. I tried cut out bad parts on and off and all possible options.

Any help would be very welcome...

    Thx

    Trekk

  3. Well, yes, i have dl all last codecs you've sited.

Also, i can play about 45sec of the fixed video... seems vidfix doesn't fix the index further than the point it detected the error. How can i pass that point and render the entire video readable?

not sure how it would handle xvid, never had any problems with them but u might want to try avi defreezer this repairs 99% of my bad divx files.
    r u sure the film is a complete d/l?
also u might want to get V.dub to reconsruct the index or divxfix

  5. trekkermaster - don't know if this will help but i had probs with reign of fire with the video stopping at 23 mins and again later in the movie. tried avifixed which told me that there were 2 errors and tried to fix them but when converting to mpg the same still happened. I resaved the film using the divx compression in vdub then saved the avi...worked for me give it a try (unless you haven't already!!)
