This camera is on clearance at buy.com, and I am seriously considering the purchase. I had been thinking of buying a Canopus ADVC100 capture card, which would cost me about $275. If this camera has the passthrough feature, then it would only cost about $200 more and I would have a digital 8 camcorder as well as a DV capture device.
Can anyone here verify that this camera has the "passthrough" feature?
Any advice from owners of the camera?
Is there another model with passthrough for a similar price that you would recommend over this model?

bestbuy has the TRV240 for $500 after rebate, only $25 more for a current model. I use the trv340 with great results (same as 240 with digital still capability). The 240 does have passthrough. Dont know about the 230 though.
